Too often we try and go it alone. We work, strive, and try to survive the daily grind when we have an Almighty God who quietly whispers, “Come. Give it to me, child.”
All we have to do is accept the invitation and intentionally lay our over-sized burdens at His feet. He desires to carry them for us. His shoulders are much broader than ours. Carrying us, close to His heart, is effortless.
So go ahead, beloved. Allow Him to be what He longs to be to you. Lay it down and allow Him to scoop you up.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. – Matthew 11:28-30
Soak in these powerful words with me this week, will you? We so desperately need this day-by-day, moment-by-moment reminder.
Post your link below if you are going to memorize with us this week!

Thank you for this! I will be memorizing it next. With little ones underfoot and just feeling overwhelmed with the stuff of life right now, it’s precisely what my heart needed!
Oh good, Tauna! I actually just printed it out and stuck it on my cabinet by my kitchen sink…for frequent reminders!
This was a lovely post. I believe as you do that we need to lay our burdens at His feet. I know that He will be with us if we just reach up to Him. The Savior can make the burden ligher. I love the scripture. I will be memorizing with you all!
Blessings to you!
By the way, my grandmother was a McMillan so maybe your husband and I are related.
How funny…maybe they are! So glad to have you memorizing with us. Blessings to you!
