So glad you could join us for Tempt My Tummy Tuesday hosted by At The Well.
I found a new recipe, great for a church or neighborhood social event. It can feed a large number and is so easy. I know how much we all like easy! Hope this recipe will help to make your next food event a little less stressful. I know brisket can be expensive. So, keep your eyes opened for when they go on sale.
Spiced Crock Pot Brisket
- 1 brisket, about 4-5 pounds
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp flour mixed with 3 Tbsp cold water
Directions:
Place brisket in slow cooker/crock pot; cut to fit if necessary. Combine water, ketchup, soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, spices, garlic and pepper in a bowl; next add to slow cooker/ crock pot. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours. Remove brisket from slow cooker. Skim fat from juices and transfer juices to a saucepan. Stir in flour-water paste and cook on low until thickened. Serve brisket sliced with the gravy.
Serves 10.

Sorry about posting my cookies three times…I kept getting redirected to Linky Tools and didn’t think that the linky was working correctly.
They are really good cookies and perhaps they are worthy of all three postings…lol…

That really sounds delicious and so easy! And I love using the slow cooker.
Greetings from Illinois!
I was just attempting to copy your delicious recipe, Spiced crockpot brisket and could not. Would you mind emailing me this recipe, because I intend to use it for our after Thanksgiving Family get-together. I appreciate your help.
Thank you,

I am back to say that I did make this recipe with a sirloin tip roast and did it in the oven. I just used a Dutch oven to cook it in. It was very good and made great gravy. The only thing that I will do different next time is to stud my roast with garlic as I usually do. I did not do that this time and felt that the meat could have used a little more flavor. I will be posting about this recipe in my Cooking from the Blogs post on Sunday. Thanks for sharing a great recipe. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
