I wonder if Abraham realized how much weight was in the words he said in Genesis?
God provided a lamb named Jesus as the offering for atonement for our sins.
I wonder how often we try and put the sacrifice of our good works on the alter and think it will save us?
Dear Lord,
Help us to realize that you gave the ultimate sacrifice and that freed us. Only through the free and precious gift of your son can our lives be changed for your glory. Help me to live freely.
Thank-you for doing this for me. Thank-you for offering your son for my sins. I am not worthy, yet you love me and did this just for me.

Good point…I’ve often wondered that myself…did Abraham KNOW, really KNOW the extent of what he was happening in that moment? Do we ever really KNOW when we are at a crossroads with God? Those little earthly moments, might just be huge heavenly moments and with our limited knowledge, they may just pass us by! Lord, help us to see in our limited earthly view, the extent of Your Hand on our lives! Thank you, Lord!

WOW! Sometimes I wonder if I see the “lamb” and keep going on with what I want to do. How often to I forget to lean upon Him – He who gave His life for me.
