Each Monday, we share a project that relates to being a Christian woman and living out our Titus 2 roles in real life. For more information about this feature or to submit a project idea, click here.
This week’s project is:
“Prayer is the greatest weapon we hold in our hands as we mother our children. It is the greatest secret for successful mothering.” Nancy Campbell
A whisper, a cry, labored, simple. Each prayer is heard by the Father. This week let us focus on the blessings we’ve been entrusted to raise for Him. Single? Childless? Lift up your voice for siblings, nieces, nephews, those you encounter at work, church, those that grace your daily life… those yet to come. (Ideas formed from The Power of Motherhood):
Monday: That they will know Christ early in life (Psalm 63:1; 2 Timothy 3:15)
Tuesday: That they will respect those in authority over them (Romans 13:1)
Wednesday: That they will desire the right kind of friends (Proverbs 1:10; 13:20)
Thursday: That they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives – spiritual, emotional, and physical (John 17:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
Friday: That they, as well as those they marry, will be kept pure until marriage (1 Corinthians 6:14-17)
Saturday: That they will learn to totally submit to God and resist Satan (James 4:7)
Sunday: That they will be single-hearted, willing to be sold out to Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2)

Father, what an incredible task you have given us as mothers; to nurture, teach, discipline and train these children that fill our homes and hearts. Give us hearts of prayer for these children Lord. For this is our greatest tool we have for keeping and protecting their hearts. Father this week as we intentionally set aside time to pray for our children, I ask that you would do a mighty work. Drive us to our knees as we cry out for the sweet souls you’ve graced our lives with.

I always enjoy your wisdom from the Lord, Chelsey. I would just like to add that as parents, we must also do our part to keep ungodly influences out of our home. For example, the TV programs, books, and magazines that enter into our homes. I think we also need to guard our children when it comes to the homes we allow them to visit. Are those homes on the same “page” ? Keep up the great work and blessings to you!
Ruth,
You are so very right! This is a HUGE part of our jobs as we “train up our children”. We must be “mother bears” in regard to what we allow in our homes. We must be the filter for our children, while teaching and training them to be Godly men and women for Christ!
