Each Monday, we share a project that relates to being a Christian woman and living out our Titus 2 roles in real life. For more information about this feature or to submit a project idea, click here.
This week’s project is:
to try the SOAP Bible Study Method. Sometimes we can find ourselves in a stale routine while reading through the Bible, and we might be treating our daily bible reading as something to check off our list instead of experiencing the written Word of God.
In those times, for me personally, I like to try a new Bible Study method to stir up my motivation and excitement over reading through the Bible!
This Bible Study method is shared on Mom’s Toolbox from Amy. SOAP “is a simple way to read through the Lord’s word, pray and reflect on just what He might be telling you in that passage.”
Here is what Amy does:
Pray, asking God to guide me through His Word and clear my mind of distractions.
Read the passage and find the one thing I believe God is telling me that morning. Then I journal about it using the acrostic SOAP as a guide.
S: Scripture-Write the ONE scripture that I feel God is using to speak to me in today’s reading
O: Observation-What might He be telling me with that scripture?
A: Application-How can I apply it to my life?
P: Prayer-What is my prayer to ask God in helping me to make that application?
This week let’s try the SOAP method and see how it helps you as you read through God’s Word looking for wisdom!

Lord, I pray that we would be women who are in Your Word daily and reading through it with the intent to apply it to our lives. We are in desperate need of You and Your wisdom and Your guidance. Lord, I pray this week as we try the SOAP method of bible study that You would speak to us through Your Word. Amen.
