I have two daughters that I am trying to homeschool, one is in 7th grade (she is soooo easy!!) and a sophomore (which is NOT!). In fact, she has complained to me all year that I am not "teaching" her. I simply CAN'T teach her when I don't know the materials. There are things that she is learning that I never had. I do however, have the teacher's manuals and all the help she needs. I have expected to follow her lesson plans, do the assignments, take the quizzes and tests (which I happily review with her...) but she is not at all happy with our homeschool method. I have tried to explain to her that most of the time, by the time the student is in high school, the parent is more of an administrator than a teacher. The younger girl, on the other hand, finishes up her work and moves on from assignment to assignment with plenty of time to read books for fun and do fun projects. Thank you for NOT being the "perfect" homeschooling mom and ADMITTING it! Your method seems very similar to my way of homeschooling. It encourages me!!
