I’ve never been fond of New Year’s Resolutions, possibly because I struggle so much at keeping them and hate to set myself up for failure. However, when I was asked to offer thoughts for the new year here, I decided to look at it as an exercise in goal-setting, rather than focusing on “resolving” something.
Resolutions tend to have a backward look to them because we see things we did wrong the previous year and “resolve” to do better. Goal-setting has a more forward approach where we take what we’ve learned from the previous year and add to it. Failure, in this respect, never enters the equation.
My goal for 2010 is to learn the art of balance when it comes to being busy at home. I want to explore ways to prioritize my time. I want my writing to find its proper place. I want my day to begin with my Lord. I want my eyes to be set upon the Prize, and my actions to reflect my goal. I want the Lord to be glorified in what He sees in my tiny corner of the world.
Blessings to you in 2010,
Amy @

Great goals for this new year! Thank you for sharing them.
Amy,
Your words resonate in my heart…"balance, being busy at home, prioritizing my time," but especially these words: "I want my writing to find its proper place. I want my day to begin with my Lord. I want my eyes to be set upon the Prize, and my actions to reflect my goal. I want the Lord to be glorified in what He sees in my tiny corner of the world." I will pray for you, please pray for me.
Your sister in the journey,
Wendy
You speak the desires of my heart too! One of the last resolutions I made a few years ago was to resolve not to make any more.
Interestingly enough, I was able to keep that one!
Thank you for sharing that !
