I am a wife to the most wonderful man in the world and mother of five amazing children. Life at our house can be loud and crazy, but, oh, so wonderful and full of love. My heart’s cry is to encourage women to seek a more intimate relationship with the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and walking as free women in His glorious Light. My hope is that women are not satisfied with a life of mediocrity and defeat, but that they live abundant, transformed, and joy-filled lives. You can find me at my personal blog:Thirsty for Him

“Mr. Wonderful”

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 NIV If you would ever take a few minutes to flip around the channels of your TV, it wouldn’t take long to see how our society views husbands.  Everything from commercials to sitcoms…

Even this?

I have been working through a bible study called Not a Fan which challenges Believers to really live out their faith, not just giving “lip service” to God.  As I have been doing the study, God has stirred up my heart to truly die to myself, pick up my cross, and follow Him.  Of course,…

The Best Mommy

“I wish you were the best mommy.” Ouch.  Those words can sting- especially when you are in the middle of a crowded video store.  What would bring such exasperated words from a four-year-old? “Mommy, can I have cotton candy?” No, honey. “Can I rent THIS movie?” No, not tonight. “An ice cream sandwich would make…

Making the Bed

The other morning my husband and I were making the bed together. Now, this is not a chore we normally do TOGETHER- I am the one who usually makes it. Somehow, though, we found ourselves chatting about daily life and as we did, we naturally just began working together on the task. Interestingly, I found…

Little Eyes…Always Watching

“…you became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers…” – 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 When Aaron was four, he loved to go into the office with Daddy to work…

Fixing His Words on our Children’s Hearts

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on…

Do you have your oxygen mask on?

Listening to the flight attendant tell us all about oxygen masks, I couldn’t help but make the “spiritual connection”- especially when she began talking about children. She said that it was very important to put on our own masks BEFORE we put them on any children seated next to us. I thought about me, as…
