The demands are never ending. Oh, how overwhelming it can feel. The meals, the resulting dishes, the boo boos in need of band-aids, the hysterical toddler in need of attention, the precious husband (misplaced somewhere in the chaos) in need of attention, the never ending clean-up, and of course, the ever growing mountain of laundry.
And let’s not forget the sacred time of sitting. Of being still. Of soaking Him up, and then pouring Him out again. The thing that sadly tends to drop first when our to-do lists are overflowing.
There are days I’m quite certain I won’t make it. Staying under my covers seems like the only viable – and considerably more appealing – alternative.
I stand – or rather, cling – to the knowledge that I was created to handle this. Wired to thrive amidst this. To find my peace and strength and hope, in Him, in the face of this glorious mess. To not get tired of doing these seemingly mundane things, but to pursue joy in the journey.
Are you worn out and weary, sweet sister?
Running low on reasons to keep plodding away, to keep minding the details that often go unappreciated, and to keep smiling when the laundry basket overflows for the fifth time this week?
He’s watching. Our faithful, ever-loving Abba who scoops us up and woos us onward in this wildly wonderful, crazily exhausting journey. He knows what you do when they’re not watching, when they’re sleeping and you’re not, and when they fail to notice or thank you. He sees. And it blesses His heart deeply.
Keep on, keeping on, beloved.
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”
Galatians 6:9
Will you chew on these words with me this week, as we aim to do everything to the best of our ability, and to His glory? Add your link below.

Thanks you – I needed that encouragement this morning!
Is there a way we can save the pictures with the verse and print them at home, perhaps like a 4×6 photo size? I’d love to stick that one on my fridge!
Hi Jen! So glad you were encouraged! Yes, please feel free to click on the image, save it to your computer and print it!! We need to be frequently reminded of His truth and promises!
